Demonstrations of new cutting edge products and a wide range of special offers will be available to all visitors to the free Museums Association (MA) Exhibition 2017.

At the exhibition, which will be held alongside the MA Conference in Manchester on 16-17 November, visitors and delegates will have the chance to meet more than 80 leading museum sector suppliers.

Products on display will include a new interface for Armadillo Systems’ Turning the Pages, a technology providing digital access to rare books and manuscripts that promises “breath-taking detail”.

Attendees can also learn about Spectrum 5.0, the latest version of the UK’s collection management standard, which will be presented in a new stand-alone publication.

The Turning the Pages interface will be among the on-stand demonstrations on offer. There will also be demos of Surface Impression's work with online collections, and a new augmented reality offer from Field Design.

Attendees can also benefit from special offers including 20% off MA membership, and a prize draw to win a magnum of champagne. And the thermal printer supplier TLS Boca Systems is offering a free cuddly lemur toy with every quote.

In addition, visitors will be able to attend a programme of 30 free workshops focusing on careers and practice in museums.

The MA's marketing and membership manager Zoe Spencer said: “We’re really excited about the range of companies coming to this year’s exhibition – there are lots of new companies offering interesting products and services, so it's worth visitors and delegates taking some time to come and get ideas and meet new contacts. The demos taking place on stands will give an extra insight into the latest products. And with a range of special offers as well as a free workshop programme, there is something for everyone.”
