The LGBT Staff Network at Royal Museums Greenwich is coordinating a plan for museum, gallery and heritage professionals to march together at this year’s Pride Festival in London.

The festival takes place from 10-26 June and the march will take place on 25 June. Those who sign up will march under the Museums Association banner.

“This is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate museums as queer friendly spaces, and a chance to take the energy from LGBT History Month and build Momentum for 2017, the 50th anniversary for decriminalisation of male homosexuality,” said Sacha Coward,
the family programmes producer at Royal Museums Greenwich.

”As part of this we will be looking into our collections for LGBT and queer stories that we can bring on the march with us – we invite you to do the same.”

Those interested in joining the march should contact Coward by the end of this month at scoward@rmg.co.uk giving your institution’s name and how many people you will be bringing with you.
