Last chance to enjoy £50 off AMA registration

Nicola Sullivan, 21.03.2017
Offer runs until the end of March
Museum professionals have until the end of the month to take advantage of the £50 discount on registration for the Associateship of the Museums Association (AMA) – the Museums Association's (MA) flagship professional development award.

The reduced registration fee, which includes the first year’s annual fee, will be available until 31 March.

The AMA is a structured programme to help museum professionals achieve their career aspirations by developing their job skills and core competences with the support of a mentor.

It takes between two and three years to achieve the award and registration is open to anyone who works in or for museums on a full-time, part-time or voluntary basis.

A number of phased improvements will be introduced to the programme to make it more streamlined, flexible and straightforward for participants.

The MA’s professional development officer Tamsin Russell said: “The AMA offers a really flexible approach to continuing professional development that is neither curriculum-bound nor fixed in terms of pace of completion, enabling people to focus on what they want to develop when they want to develop.

“During 2017 you will see a large number of small changes that will create a positive change larger than the sum of its parts.”

Dear Anonymous
Thank you for your comment. Our membership is graduated by several bands and is linked to annual salary or whether you are unwaged. Please see our join pages:
The AMA is a professional development award and is not linked to salary.
Best wishes

In a sector where low pay is endemic, the MA subscription is way out of reach for many who would benefit most. Even with a £50 discount! Why not offer a graduated membership scheme linked to annual salary?
